Redevelopment goal for Anglesea Surf Lifesaving Club

September 12, 2018

An elected Liberal Nationals Government will commit an additional $500,000 towards the refurbishment of the Anglesea Surf Lifesaving Club.

Anglesea is one of the great lifesaving clubs with a current membership of over 2,000 and an impressive record of achievement in water safety for children and adults.

This contribution will help Anglesea Surf Lifesaving Club initiate a substantial operations and training centre upgrade and will also allow the Club to expand their important community outreach and partnerships programs.

For over 60 years the Anglesea Surf Lifesaving Club has had a long and proud history of service to the Polwarth community. Beachgoers feel safe knowing that hundreds of volunteer lifesavers are here to keep them and their families safe and only a Liberal Nationals Government will continue to support the hard work that they do.

Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Emergency Services, Brad Battin:

“Anglesea Surf Lifesaving Club is a massive community focal point and it deserves the best facilities to continue the excellent work done by its staff and local members.

This announcement gives certainty to Anglesea Surf Lifesaving Club and will ensure the ongoing viability and success of the Club for generations to come.”

Comments attributable to Member for Polwarth, Richard Riordan:

“ASLSC has a wonderful culture amongst its members, a culture that is inclusive and promotes respect and integrity, not just through words but also through actions.

For 66 years, Anglesea Surf Lifesaving Club has delivered life-saving emergency services for our community. Now with more than 2,000 members, local residents, school students, community groups and visitors can benefit from the programs and services that the Club provides.

I am proud to be part of a Liberal Nationals team led by Matthew Guy that truly appreciates and supports our vital volunteers.”
