'God of our fathers, known of old,
Lord of our far-flung battle line,
Beneath whose awful hand we hold Dominion over palm and pine—
Lord God of Hosts, be with us yet,
Lest we forget—lest we forget!'
Whilst we grapple with the struggles associated with self isolation, job security and home schooling, Saturday will be an opportunity to place perspective on our recent troubles.
Anzac day this year will be like no other, and I call on the community to use this as an opportunity to put our struggles to one side and acknowledge our Diggers like never before.
No group of Australians have exhibited sacrifice for their country more than our Returned Soldiers and we owe them a duty of respect.
Self isolation whilst presenting challenges also presents an amazing opportunity for Mum's and Dad's to make this Anzac day a personal acknowledgment and more special than ever before.
Whether it is flying a flag at half mast, making Anzac Biscuits or explaining to the next generation about the sacrifices of their forebears, I encourage everybody to put our problems aside and reflect.
Nothing will make me prouder as your Member of Parliament than seeing every household in our wonderful electorate standing tall and proud in their front garden at 6am this Saturday.
Lest we Forget.
