Victoria’s budget

Victoria’s budget today will steer a dangerous course of Govt spending and debt for years to come.
Govt spending is not all bad, but when it is poorly managed across a range of areas, Victorians get poor outcomes and services and over time (out of control debt) this poor spending stops the Govt from doing what it needs to do.
It costs $116,033.50 per year to keep prisoners in jail in Victoria, that is $43,964.25 more than NSW and 46,997.40 more than QLD.
Imagine if we could take just the additional costs - $43.964.25 per prisoner per year and invest it is prevention programs - it would be a win-win. Less crime, safer communities and long term savings.
We need change and we need leadership to reduce crimes with a plan to stop repeat offending in Victoria.
